Adam's cranioplasty a success

The operation has been done and he is now back on the ward. We spent time with him yesterday afternoon and evening and everything was OK.
The only rsik is of infection, normally rated as 4% but slightly higher in Adam's case. However the micro biologists ( also known as the little people) have taken steps to reduce this with antibiotics.
He is looking better but we wish they had shaved all his head rather than one half, however it will grow again. Even for Adam, this is an odd hair style.
The doctors tell us that this procedure can help with recovery as it returns the brain's state to a normal condition.
We hope so. All we need now is for him to open his eyes.
Thanks to everyone for all the messages. They are all on CD and we play them regularly.

Adam's medical updates from Andrew 3/3

Adam was taken to surgery at 3:00 pm UK time to have the cranioplasty done. The op takes about 90 minutes , plus about the same in recovery so he should be back in HDU at around 6:30 UK time.

We have been having difficulties with the hospital. Adam is too well to be on HDU. However, the chest infection means that for now he has to be kept in an isolation room. Isolation rooms do not have monitors, so under the normal running of the ward he can be left unattended for long periods of time. Normally patients would be in beds opposite the nurses station so that they can be observed. It was while he was in the isolation room that he had the fever and rigor where he started shaking, couldn’t breathe and started turning blue. As I mentioned earlier, luckily Adele was in the room at the time.
