Ok, first thing to point out here
is that this post is by me & hasn’t come from Andrew & Adele in any
way. They are very humbled, astounded
and eternally grateful for the level of support this group has provided,
emotionally, psychologically and of course financially.
I’m sure all of us can’t begin to
imagine what this has been like for them, but still it goes on. For various reasons we haven’t been able to
share everything on here, the group is
so big it’s impossible to police who is on so it has to be treated like a
public forum, but hopefully we can at some point as there is a lot to tell.
Suffice to say that the recent
decision of the court isn’t the end.
So to the crux of this post which
I’m sure you were expecting. I think we
need to raise more funds. We are at
another milestone in the saga. We knew
that the fundraising would stop when Adam got back to the UK, but we all know
there is a much bigger picture. We also
knew there was very little hope of getting anything from Tinsley (who did do it
by the way, whatever the court say). Andrew
& Adele would never ask for any more financial help, yet they haven’t
mentioned on here what sort of costs they have had to incur in the 2 years
since Adam was brought back. Being their
close friend I do know.
The shambolic court case required
their presence in court quite a few times which meant flights from UK each time
& the extra expenses of food & board;
Thai lawyers and advisers need to be paid for; every single court session was in Thai &
so had to be translated to have any kind of hope of understanding it; advice on what to do next has just cost
another £900 and that’s before anything is actually done! Add to this the injustice of Adam’s income
being taken away, the costs involved in daily visits and devices to aid his rehabilitation
(not covered by NHS) and that’s before we even start with Ben.
So, my thinking is that most of
the people on here are here because they know and care about Adam. Adam’s parents are now key to everything for
Adam. So we need to support them. It’s been 2 years since we all put our hands
in our pockets and produced a miracle, let’s do it again. Please.
