Adam's Homecoming!

So, the big news from Andrew!...

We have looked at many options regarding Adam’s future treatment. We still do not know how long he is likely to remain in a coma or what care he will need once he awakes. It is likely that the recovery process will be lengthy and require the specialist help of people experienced in this form of head injury.
Taking everything into account, we have decided that the best option is to take Adam back to the UK and continue his treatment there. We have arranged for a company to transfer Adam back to the UK in an air ambulance to an ICU in Leeds General Infirmary. This transfer will take place on Friday evening the 22nd June and he should be in the hospital in Leeds on Saturday 23rd around mid-day.
We apologise to those friends, colleagues and students that have wanted to see him, but at present with the high risk of infection this is not possible.
The Chefs in A Pickle event on Thursday will be our last chance to say thank-you to all the many friends who have put so much effort into the fund raising and into looking after all of us over the last four weeks.
For those that we do not see, we will say thank you now. We will keep in touch through Facebook when we get home as you will all want to know Adam’s progress. There are also many outstanding issues that we have to deal with over the next few weeks and months and we will keep in touch regarding all of these.
Our Love and gratitude to you all, without your support we would not have coped
Andrew and Adele
PS. I have been so involved in writing this I have forgotten to mention the lad himself. He is still improving. Today he is breathing again without the ventilator for a few hours and his temperature remains inside acceptable limits. The lung infection is still there but being treated. Once again slowly moving forward.

Anything at all we can do to help once you're back we will. Whilst many of us might like to visit we will be respectful that this might not be appropriate & will wait until you guys feel it is. We will do whatever is right by you & Adam at every given point in time. I can understand why you now wish to bring him home so our love, support & good wishes will follow you. X
