Just back from LGI.
Adam has been moved out of the ICU to a high dependency ward. It is a
lovely light room with windows looking out on to the courtyard. He is no
longer on the ventilator but his air is slightly oxygen enriched. For
now all medications have ceased.
On ICU it was one nurse to one patient, now it is one nurse to two patients. He is being really well looked after.
Although progress is
slow, arm, hand, head and leg movement continues to improve and the
amount of control he has is slight, but is getting better,
He is still in a deep coma, which is distressing but he is progressing.
The doctors have identified three strains of bacteria that have come
from Thailand. This is no form of criticism of the Thai hospital, these
things happen, but they are being very cautious to contain the
infection, so he is still in an isolation unit. The microbiologists at
the hospital believe they can now treat the infection with antibiotics,
but we will know more over the next few days.
We are happy with the progress that he is making.
Love to you all, please continue to keep him in your thoughts.
Andrew and Adele
