I am begining to think that Adam likes visiting York hospital.
We got a call just before midnight on Thursday to say that he had been taken to York hospital, again. He has managed to pull out the PEG (the tube used to feed him). Over the past week or so the nurses had noticed that he was becoming aware of this device and was trying to find out what it was. On one occasion the nurse put her hand over the peg to stop him and he pulled her hand away, and on an other when a dressing had been put over the PEG he persitantly picked at the dressing to remove it. This time he managed to pull the whole thing out, so off to A&E again.
They have done a temporary fix (we dont fully understand why they didnt do the full job) and he is back at Woodlands. The nurses and Adele have given him a damn good telling off, which he will probably ignore.
In a way this is a promising sign of improved awareness.
We are still focused on getting the trachesotemy out, before he pulls that off.
