Adam has arrived in Woodlands. He still scrubs up well, is looking peaceful and relaxed. We spent a couple of hours with him and then went home to unwind. There is one gripe about Leeds NHS, but I will leave that for tomorrow. For now all is well.
Mr. Pickles, I hope your feeling better. Every time I pass Regents, I think of all the good times. I pray that you keep getting stronger and won't give up on recovering! You are very brave to have gone through what you did and still alive. Just a couple more steps into your recovery and you'll be good as new
Adam is going to be moved from the RHN in Putney and transferred to Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre on Thursday 25th July. More details later.
This is wonderful. The UK courst have now accepted our forms (45 pages) and have sent us anoth 20 pages to fill in, plus a block of five that need to be copied five times. As I get hold of my pen again I see forests around the world slowly vanishing.
HEY HEY Mate, I know you don't really care but we beat the aussies. 1-0 so far just deal with the cricket. I'll keep trying to get you interested. See you Thursday, and no sleeping!
Quite a long message this time. We have spent three days at RHN with Adam. Over the past few weeks we have observed some increased awareness and in particular that he is responding quicker to stimuli and requests. We suspect that out of all the drugs tried, it is the amantadine that is proving to be beneficial. However, when we arrived on Sunday he was sat in the reception area and to be honest he looked well and truly pissed off. We worked with him all day and got a minimal mood change. However on Monday when we went we started telling him about Steves wedding and got the biggest grin you can imagine. He started moving his left hand and I asked him to give me a high five and he raised his fist to mine. I then asked him to give me a high five if he was happy for Steve and Nid and he did it again and then just to check I asked him to do it again, and he did. We carried on talking to him about people he knew and as we mentioned names and memories ...See more
I went to see Adam for the first time yesterday with Anna Cooke, Jasmine Neufeld amd Cafrin Hart Le. It was lovely to see him. He gave us some smiles and poked his tongue out at us when we mentioned drinking sangsom! We took this photo outside his room and hope he wakes up soon to enjoy the lovely view.
Hello all Adam's friends, just a quick reminder about sending out all your love, prayers, positive thoughts for Adam on Sunday at 2.00pm. Andrew and I will be there with Adam and will read all the messages, stories etc that have come in since last time we visited, especially Steve and Nid's wedding on Saturday.
